──────────────────────────────
In the mountain-root citadel known as Deepfast Hold, where the stone remembers every strike and the forges echo ancient hymns, a child was born to the lineage of Emberfell — a sub-branch of the great Stonefast Clan, whose vows run deeper than rivers and longer than war.
His name was Korrin — a quiet child, broad even in youth, with eyes the color of compacted earth and hair dark as ore awaiting fire. While others carved stone or recited ancestral codes, Korrin disassembled broken automata and ancient forge-tools just to understand what made them breathe. Not to destroy, but to remake. Always to remake.
To be a Stonefast is to endure, but to be an Emberfell is to endure with purpose. His family’s creed — “Shape, Shield, Stand” — defined his life before he even lifted his first hammer.
When the Ætherveil breached the mountain winds during the Mage Reawakening of 2150, many dwarves resisted its call. But Korrin embraced it — not for power, but for precision. A relic fragment known as the Verdant Cog chose him, resonating with a will that mirrored his own: the will to build, to repair, and to guard.
Thus he became an Artificer — not a dreamer, but an architect of the divine made manifest. Where others weaved enchantment, Korrin bound logic to Aether, crafting relics that could withstand the failings of flesh. He studied ancient Archanist matrices and dwarven tectonics alike, fusing rune-steel with echo-forged circuitry. His workshops became sanctums. His hammers sang not for war, but for the world yet unbuilt.
But even builders must one day stand guard.
When the Riftstorm fractured the southern marches and horrors breached through forgotten roots, Korrin set down his schematics and took up the mantle of Sentinel. Not by command. By choice.
He reforged his own armor — not for agility, but immovable strength. Wielding the Oathdriver, a hybrid warhammer-artifice forge key, Korrin planted himself where others fell back. His defensive techniques became legend: redirecting kinetic force through anchored runeplates, absorbing impact into layered Aether-buffered stone.
It was not glory that drew him to the front.
It was vengeance.
One of the first incursions into Deepfast took his elder brother — a constructor who once taught Korrin to see structure in every chaos. The loss did not break him. It forged him. Into resolve, not rage — though recklessness often flared when others were endangered.
There are tales of Korrin holding a collapsing tunnel alone for two days, fusing support columns with his own Aether-infused breath. Another speaks of him launching a construct over a battlefield wall using a modified pressure harness, just to disrupt a siege engine long enough for civilians to escape.
He is a paradox of the Forge: blunt yet brilliant, immovable yet ever-building.
A dwarf who fights not for blood, but for function. For design.
And always, for clan.
To the young, he is a hero.
To the Stonefast elders, he is a reminder: the old ways can adapt.
To his enemies, he is what comes after the breach fails.
To the world, he is:
Korrin Emberfell, Hammer of the Stonefast Clan
The anvil that walks. The ward that watches. The sentinel who builds walls you’ll never breach again.
